DESCRIPTION

Experience a 4km. hike to reach the mountain of 7 colors, where you can observe the different shades of the mountain. Ausangate is the fifth highest mountain in Peru. With its 6,384 meters high, for centuries it has received many names: “The Roof of the Inca Capital”, “Vinicunca” (Cerro de Colores), etc. Guardian of the Cusco region, located in the district of Pitumarca, province of Canchis, Cusco region, in southern Peru. Ausangate is considered the most important mountain in the Andean cosmovision.

STARTING POINT

Pick up from your hotel 04:00 am (if the hotel is near the main square of Cusco, otherwise we will coordinate a meeting point).

ITINERARY

  • Start: 04:30 am
  • Travel by car (2 hours and a half approx.) to Pitumarka District where you will be served a rich and energetic buffet breakfast.
  • Then the transport will take you to the starting point: Qayrawiri (you also have the option to rent horses and negotiate with the villagers themselves).
  • The hike will be between 2 to 3 hours, where we will appreciate beautiful landscapes full of streams, mountains, lagoons, snow-capped mountains, as well as flora and fauna.
  • After this time we will arrive to our desired destination: Vinicunca (5,029 m.a.s.l.) or “Cerro de Colores” (Hill of Colors). We will have adequate time to take pictures.
  • We will also be able to appreciate the Apu Ausangate, the most revered snow-capped mountain by the Incas.
  • We will descend again to our restaurant where we will have a buffet lunch.
  • Finally we will return to Cusco, arriving between 06:30 and 07:00 pm. approximately.

RESTRICTIONS:

  • Not accessible for travelers in wheelchairs, pregnant women, people with heart conditions or other serious medical problems.
  • Physical condition: Travelers should have an average level of physical fitness.
  • Acclimatization: In order to fully enjoy the tour, we recommend acclimatization, arriving in Cusco 1 to 2 days before. It is entirely at the traveler’s discretion and responsibility if he/she decides to take the tour the same day he/she arrives in Cusco. Also, considering that it is an area of natural altitude, it is recommended to take pills for soroche (altitude sickness). The mates and infusions (ideally muña mate) in personal thermoses, are a very good option.
  • Highest point: 5,029 meters above sea level.
  • CHILDREN: Due to the type of activity (high altitude trekking) it is recommended for children from 12 years old.

NOTES

  1. The service provided is in shared mode (with more passengers in the group).
  2. If you want a private service is from 4 passengers having an extra cost.
  3. If you wish to purchase the tickets to the tourist sites before your arrival, just let the tour operator know adding the cost of the tickets already mentioned.
  4. The tours and excursions carried out by this Operator have a low level of risk and difficulty and provide the necessary security.
  5. Any material loss or accident is under the responsibility of the client.
  6. Service is subject to variation without previous notice, due to weather conditions (rains, floods, floods, etc.), strikes and/or demonstrations and any other event that does not allow the normal development of the itinerary.
  7. Any cancellation of the service for the reasons indicated above, does not apply a refund.
  8. The itinerary may vary at the discretion of the operator, always to ensure the safety of the traveler and the best development of the service as a whole.
  9. If you decide to leave before the end of the service, there will be no refund.
  10. We recommend that you bring snacks, preferably light snacks (dried fruits, cookies and water).
  11. If you do not attend the day of the service, it will be considered as “Performed” without place to Claims, Postponements or Refunds.

RESPONSIBILITY AND OBLIGATIONS

  • Machu Picchu Tour Services S.A.C. is an agency that operates its tours directly and also hires the services of other operating companies according to the type of service requested by the client, to ensure the best possible service. These service providers are independent of the company and have been previously approved, the company has no direct control over them.
  • The payment of the reservation of our tours implies acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed and covers our services and all participants in them.
  • The company will provide the passenger with all tickets and/or booking confirmations through the passenger’s e-mail address provided in the booking form.
  • The services provided through the company’s system are intangible, therefore if the passengers for any reason do not take the services on the scheduled date and time, they will be responsible for the total cost of these.
  • Situations beyond our control that cause the operation of our tours to not develop normally due to strikes, protests, political movements, in case of declaration of a state of emergency, border closures, accidents, flight cancellations, weather conditions, or any other public act beyond the control of the company, which could not be foreseen, possible solutions will be suggested to try to operate the scheduled program, however customers accept and acknowledge that the company has no responsibility for the non-provision of the services offered. Likewise, in these cases, the value of the contracted service will not be refundable.

CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING AND REFUND POLICIES

  • The company is not responsible for cancellations made by the client 45 days or less before the start date of the contracted service, which will be penalized with 100% per passenger.
  • Failure to appear on the day and at the time indicated for the provision of the contracted service has a penalty of 100%.
  • If the client does not pay the total balance of the trip within the agreed time, there is no refund of 50% of the deposit paid for administrative expenses per passenger.
  • For any cancellation, by the client, between 70 and 45 days before the start date of the contracted service will be penalized with 50% of the value of the program per passenger.
  • For any cancellation, by the client, between 90 and 70 days before the start date of the contracted service, a penalty of US $ 25 will be applied for administrative expenses per passenger.
  • For any rescheduling, by the client, 45 days or less before the start date of the contracted service, the request will be accepted as long as the client has no outstanding balances to pay, and there is no fare difference for the new rescheduling date.
  • The clients accept that Machu Picchu Tour Services S.A.C. has no responsibility for the non-provision of the services offered in case of adverse weather conditions or natural disasters that cannot be foreseen. Likewise, it recognizes that there will be no responsibility in case of political movements, accidents, declaration of state of emergency, border closures, strikes or any other public act beyond the control of Machu Picchu Tour Services S.A.C. that could not be foreseen. In these cases, the value of the contracted service will not be refundable.
  • Refunds will only be effective when the client requests it more than 90 days before the start date of the contracted service or when the company is unable to provide the contracted service, in the latter case, the company will not pay more than 100% of the amount paid by the client. Refunds will be provided in a period of no less than 30 working days and no more than 120 working days, discounting transaction costs, if any.
  • In the event that the passenger does not decide to complete any of the contracted services, the difference will not be refundable.
