If you go to Machu Picchu, without visiting the best places in the Sacred Valley, you will miss the opportunity to know half of the legacy left by the Incas in history. Machu Picchu is the jewel of the Inca empire, hidden among the mountains, and the only way to reach it, was to walk a path through the Sacred Valley.
In this 2 days and 1 night tour you will have the opportunity to visit several places that the Sacred Valley of the Incas offers, these places provide a glimpse into the past of the greatness that was the Inca civilization.
The tour starts with the departure from Cusco to the Sacred Valley, passing through Sacsayhuaman to the town of Pisac, where you will visit its handicraft market and the archaeological site with its temples, terraces and impressive views. Then, the trip continues to Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch.
Afterwards, you will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, highlighting its Temple of the Sun and its Inca architecture. From here, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes, where a representative of the company will meet you to transfer you to your hotel and to coordinate the next day’s tour.
The next day, after a bus ride, you will take a guided tour of Machu Picchu (approx. 2.5 h), visiting its temples, squares and terraces, surrounded by a spectacular natural environment. After the tour, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, and then by train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Upon arrival, a transfer will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
Pick up from your hotel at the coordinated time (if the hotel is near the main square of Cusco), otherwise we will coordinate a meeting point.
We start our adventure leaving the city of Cusco, crossing the mountains and passing through the imposing archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman in the direction of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the journey, we will descend approximately 1,500 feet to the bottom of the valley, accompanied by the sacred Urubamba River, until we reach the charming town of Pisac.
In Pisac, we will make a stop to visit its traditional handicraft market, where you will have the opportunity to explore and, if you wish, purchase unique souvenirs made by local hands. Next, we will head to the archaeological site of Pisac. There, our guide will take us on a tour of the majestic citadel, from where we will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the valley. We will explore ceremonial temples, dwellings, tunnels, stairways and the famous Intihuatana or “Inca sundial”. We will have approximately 90 minutes to visit this fascinating site.
We will continue our journey to Urubamba, where we will have a break to enjoy a buffet lunch with typical flavors of the region.
Afterwards, we will travel for 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, a jewel of Inca architecture surrounded by sacred mountains. There, we will visit the archaeological center and discover structures such as the impressive Temple of the Sun, water fountains, agricultural terraces and huge stone blocks perfectly assembled. All this framed by the splendor of the Patacancha and Willoq valleys and the cultural beauty of the people in their traditional dress.
After the tour, our guide or transfer will accompany you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, from where you will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Upon arrival, a representative of the hotel will be waiting for you to transfer you to your accommodation. In the course of the afternoon, your guide will visit you to coordinate the details of the next day’s tour to the Inca citadel.

At a previously arranged time, our guide will pick you up at your hotel to go together to the bus station. From there, you will start the ascent in a journey of approximately 40 minutes to the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
During the guided tour, our expert guide will accompany you through the most emblematic sectors of this wonder of the world, revealing the secrets, history and mysteries that surround the sacred Inca city. You will visit ancient temples, plazas, agricultural terraces and ceremonial enclosures, all surrounded by an impressive landscape of mountains and jungle that enhances the majesty of the place. The tour will last approximately 2 hours and a half, ideal time to soak up the magic and grandeur of this unique site.
After the visit, you will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to have lunch or explore on your own.
In the afternoon or evening (depending on your train ticket schedule), you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station. Upon arrival, a transfer will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
