The trip to the Poc Poc waterfall, has as its main objective the promotion and diversification of tourism in Cusco, operating and exposing new natural tourist attractions, from which you will appreciate and learn about the farmland of this valley of Urquillos, this place was one of the many Inca roads of the Qapac Ñan.

Itinerary at a glance

We start with the pick up from your hotel at 07:30 a.m., to travel to Chinchero (1 hour approx.). From there, we will hike for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Poc Poc Waterfall, with a stop at the Urquillos viewpoint to learn more about the ancient Inca trail.

After enjoying the waterfall (80 m high) and taking pictures, we will continue to Urquillos, crossing a forest of queuñas and eucalyptus trees, and observing agricultural fields in the valley. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the nature, before walking 30 minutes more to our transportation.

Return to Cusco with arrival at approximately 16:00 pm.

Itinerary


Day 1
Cusco – Chinchero – Urquillos – Cusco

STARTING POINT

Pick up from your hotel at 07:30 am approximately (if the hotel is near the main square of Cusco, otherwise we will coordinate a meeting point).

The tour starts with the pick up from your hotel at 07:30 a.m., to start the trip to the district of Chinchero, using the Cusco – Urubamba road. The trip lasts approximately 1 hour.

Once at the starting point, the guide will provide the necessary recommendations to begin the hike to the Poc Poc Waterfall. The route will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which we will stop at the Urquillos viewpoint, where we will learn more about the history and cultural value of this ancient Inca trail.

We will continue with a 45-minute walk until we reach the Poc Poc Waterfall, an imposing waterfall of almost 80 meters high. We will have about 30 minutes to rest, take pictures and enjoy the natural environment.

Then, we will return to the trail to Urquillos, crossing a beautiful forest of queuñas, a native species of the Andes. We will also see eucalyptus trees and cultivated fields, while learning about the agricultural practices of this fertile valley.

Arriving at the eucalyptus forest, we will enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature (45 minutes approx.). Finally, we will walk about 30 minutes more until we find our transportation to return to Cusco, with an estimated arrival at 16:00 p.m.
