We will visit Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory that reflects the technological advances of the civilization, such as its terraced systems, which allowed the adaptation of diverse plants to new ecosystems. Then, we will walk to the Maras salt mines, an impressive set of 3,000 salt wells, managed by 320 local families, which produce up to 2,000 tons of salt per year.

Pick up from your hotel 8:00 am (if the hotel is near the main square of Cusco, otherwise we will coordinate a meeting point).
We will meet at the indicated time at our meeting point, then take the vehicle that will transfer us, passing through an artisan community in Chinchero where we will see the treatment of alpaca wool, to our first destination.
Moray, agricultural laboratory that the Quechuas used to experiment with the crops of the different regions in which they were present. We will be able to walk through the trails to take pictures and feel the climate variation according to the depth of the terraces, which have a difference of 150 m between the lowest and the highest point.
The mines of Maras (entrance fee not included). The guide will explain the salt extraction process, the city is known for its nearby salt evaporation ponds, in use since Inca times. The salt evaporation ponds are uphill, less than a kilometer west of the city. This is an important salt mine site exploited during Inca times, later during colonial times and to this day.
