Itinerary at a glance

Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chiquisca
We start the trip early in the morning from Cusco to Cachora, where we will enjoy a traditional breakfast before continuing to Capuliyoc, the starting point of the trek. There you will meet the support team and begin the descent to Chiquisca, crossing the impressive canyon of the Apurimac River.

Day 2: Chiquisca – Playa Rosalinas – Santa Rosa – Marampata
We will descend to Playa Rosalinas and cross the Apurimac River and then climb towards Santa Rosa. After a revitalizing lunch, we will ascend to Marampata, where we will have panoramic views of Choquequirao and a magical night in camp.

Day 3: Choquequirao Exploration
Full day dedicated to exploring the archaeological complex of Choquequirao, exploring temples, terraces and plazas, accompanied by an expert guide. We will enjoy lunch in the middle of the site and in the afternoon we will return to our campsite in Marampata.

Day 4: Marampata – Santa Rosa – Chiquisca
After breakfast, we start our return trip descending to Santa Rosa, where we will have lunch. Then we will continue to Chiquisca, where we will camp with a local family, sharing their traditions.

Day 5: Chiquisca – Capuliyoc – Saywite – Conoc Hot Springs – Cusco
Final hike to Capuliyoc, where we say goodbye to the trekking team. On the way to Cusco, we will visit the enigmatic rock of Saywite and then enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot springs of Conoc. We return to Cusco in the afternoon.

Itinerary


Day 1
Day 1: Cusco - Capuliyoc - Chiquisca

STARTING POINT

  • Pick up from your hotel at the coordinated time (if the hotel is near the main square of Cusco), otherwise we will coordinate a meeting point.

We will start our adventure very early in the morning, picking you up from your accommodation in our private transportation to the picturesque village of Cachora, where we will enjoy a traditional breakfast and have time to explore its charming streets.

We will then continue to Capuliyoc, the starting point of our trek, where we will meet the support team that will accompany us throughout the entire route. From here, you will marvel at the panoramic views of the immense Apurimac Canyon, surrounded by mountains and unspoiled nature.

In the afternoon, we will resume our hike along a trail with spectacular views, following the course of the Apurimac River, famous for being ideal for activities such as rafting and canoeing. Our journey will culminate in Chiquisca, where a prepared camp, a hot dinner and a well-deserved night’s rest under the stars awaits us.

The approximate hiking distance will be 8 km, with a moderate level of difficulty.


Day 2
Day 2: Chiquisca - Playa Rosalinas - Santa Rosa - Marampata

We will start the day with the descent to Playa Rosalinas, crossing the impressive Apurimac Canyon. After crossing the river, we will make a stop in the hamlet of Santa Rosa, where we will enjoy a revitalizing lunch and a well-deserved rest to recover energy.

Afterwards, we will begin a challenging ascent of approximately three hours until we reach Marampata, a beautiful spot located in front of the Inca citadel of Choquequirao. In the afternoon, you will be able to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings, while feeling the special energy that emanates from this sacred place and contemplating a spectacular sunset over the mountains.

Later, a delicious dinner awaits us before resting at our campsite, completely surrounded by nature and under a starry sky.

The approximate hiking distance will be 11 km, with a challenging level of difficulty.


Day 3
Day 3: Marampata - Choquequirao - Marampata

We will start the day with a delicious breakfast surrounded by nature, before departing to the fascinating archaeological complex of Choquequirao, one of the hidden jewels of the Inca legacy.

During the morning, we will thoroughly explore every corner of the discovered area, visiting temples, terraces, ceremonial plazas and other impressive sectors. Our expert guide will accompany you at all times, sharing the history, symbolism and function of each structure, and answering all your questions.

At noon we will have a lunch break, enjoying the view and the unique energy of the place, and in the afternoon we will continue the visit to additional areas of the archaeological site.

At the end of the day, we will return to the camp to enjoy a comforting dinner and rest under the Andean sky, closing an unforgettable day.

The approximate hiking distance will be 6 km, with an easy difficulty level.


Day 4
Day 4: Marampata - Santa Rosa - Playa Rosalinas - Chiquisca

This morning we will say goodbye to Choquequirao, leaving behind this incredible archaeological site, and begin our return trip. We will make a brief stop at Marampata to capture some photos and appreciate the scenery of the Inca citadel from above.

We will continue our descent to Santa Rosa, where we will enjoy a refreshing lunch on the way, and then continue on to Chiquisca, our destination for the night. There, we will camp in the backyard of a local family, giving us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the Andean lifestyle and learn more about their customs and traditions.

At nightfall, a homemade dinner awaits us before resting in our campsites, surrounded by the tranquility of nature.

The approximate hiking distance will be 11 km, with a moderate level of difficulty.


Day 5
Day 5: Chiquisca -Capuliyoc - Monolito de Saywite - Conoc hot springs - Cusco

We will enjoy our last breakfast of the trip before starting the final stretch to Capuliyoc. There, we will say goodbye to the trekking team and board our private transportation to the mysterious Saywite rock, an archaeological enigma for you to explore and admire.

After the visit, we will head to the hot springs of Conoc, where you can relax and enjoy a revitalizing bath in its warm waters, and also savor a delicious lunch, in the afternoon we will begin our return to Cusco, enjoying the beautiful views of the Andean landscapes as we say goodbye to this unforgettable adventure.

Finally, we will arrive in Cusco around 6:00 p.m., leaving you at the door of your hotel so you can rest and relax after this wonderful experience.
